JOB TITLE
Section Manager – Pastry | MAF Retail | Commercial
ROLE SUMMARY
The Section Manager – Pastry is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality, freshness, and product variety within the pastry section to attract customers and achieve sales targets. The role also ensures that customers receive excellent service and a premium shopping experience at all times.
Key Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES (Role Profile)
Track and report competitor activities including pricing, product range, and promotions to maintain a strong market position.
Coordinate with suppliers to plan internal promotions that strengthen the section’s value and discount image.
Manage and maintain a competitive pastry assortment aligned with customer demand.
Support section-level comparisons and performance studies to improve commercial efficiency and concept execution.
Ensure proper use, maintenance, and profitability of all department assets and equipment.
Provide feedback and inputs related to pricing strategy, freshness standards, and section image.
Maintain strong stock control including:
stock value management
minimizing out-of-stock items
ordering and delivery follow-ups
Enforce all health, safety, hygiene, and security standards according to company policies and local regulations.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 2+ years of experience in Bakery & Pastry, plus 1+ year in retail operations (Retail experience preferred).
Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university (or relevant qualification).
Ability to train and guide team members on new recipes and preparation methods.
Strong knowledge of quality control and hygiene standards in food handling.
Good communication skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
